I'm really showing my age here but I have a 30 year old Gossen Lunasix exposure meter that I used to use with my 35mm cameras. It seems to still be working fine. Can I substitute ISO for ASA and get an accurate reading with this for my DSLR?

I won't assume you do or don't know, but are you aware of the battery problems?
Hi Larry, I don't understand what you mean by battery problems???? As long as they are fresh and fully charged what would be other battery problems? I would use the camera on full M and set my aperture and or shutter speed from the reading on the meter.
Thanks, Heart, good link and answer I wanted to hear

I have a Luna-Pro which is similar to your Six. Good meters, and let you measure either incident reflected light.
The "problem" is $. The old Gossens used mercury button batteries that lasted forever. The only 1.35 volt batteries I've found are the Wein zinc/air at $10 for two. Problem is that zinc/airs use themselves up after exposure to air, whether they're used or not. Mine lasted one month. I also had to put a shim on top of the Weins, since they're not as thick as the PX625's.
The other route is to use lithium batteries, but they are 1.5 volts instead of 1.5 and give you false readings. The fix for this is an adapter that reduces the voltage to 1.35, but it costs $40.
Nice meters, but I finally gave up on mine.
Thanks for the heads up on this. I will do some research and see if I can come up with anything. IF I do find a battery that will work I will let you know.
Gossen has been an excellent brand and they have enjoyed a good reputation over the years as reliable meters. I am not familiar with their new meters if they still manufacture them.
I use a Minolta meter and almost exclusively for studio shots. I personally believe that modern in camera meters are of excellent quality and I rely on them. By the way, my main metering modalities are center weighted and spot.

I use #675 zinc-air hearing aid batteries for all my old photo equipment that used the old PX625/PX675/PX13 mercury oxide batteries. They run about a buck apiece at Walmart & discount drug stores. The 675 batteries will work fine in the larger diameter 625 applications as is or you can use a small "O" ring on the diameter to keep them centered in the battery compartment. If the depth of the battery is an issue I ball up a small piece of aluminum to take up the fit. They work fine in my Gossen LunaSix and Konica SLRs and usually me last six months to a year.
I have a Lunasix It uses a nine volt battery. The Lunasix was the same as the Multipro. However the lunasix was released in Europe.
I was wrong I have a multisix
Thanks for the tip on this. Will have to go to Wal-Mart today and check it out.
I have a Gossen Profisix, it takes 9volt battery (rechargeable) Seems like I have had it 250 years.

Yes iso/asa much the same.
I have a Western Master V no batteries required. Was the other choice at the time much like Canon/Nikon. ;-)
