You have to start to install it first, and set up an email you can use with adobe. Let me know how you make out it is a little tricky.

Once you get pse 12 installed there are a series of you tube videos to help using the program. It's called Simon Sez It. I watched the videos for pse 11 not much has changed in pse 12.

I purchased Elements 12 yesterday from Office Max. I need to go on line to retrieve my activation code. I can't find anywhere on line to get it. Adobe charges by the hour for Elements tech support. Does anyone have the link for the activation site?
Thank you for your help.

You should have a card with Redemption Code
go to http://www.adobe.com/go/getserial

That's not it either. I called Office Max. They said I need to go on line to Adobe, find the registration page, enter the Product # from my box, and c&p the registration code. From the Adobe forums I see that Elements 12 purchased from Office Max & Best buy use this method of registration and there are plenty of people having problems obtaining the registration #. I didn't see any solutions. Most returned their product & purchased it on line. I thought maybe someone on UHH had the same problem.

I've used this link without ever being charged to have online help from Adobe.

See if this helps you: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/registering-logging-account-management.html

Thank you for the link. It would have helped. Elements is installed and running. It was a packaging omission. No code card included.

You just gave me a solid reason not to buy any Adobe products.

I've used Adobe products for over 20 years and have never had a problem. There is always a first. Elements 12 is installed and working fine. I will never buy from a store that uses a locked box system again. Too many steps to get the activation code.

I was with a friend when he bought Element 12 at Office Max. We watched the lady scan the barcode and he received a slip saying product activated with the sales receipt.

That activates the code card that's supposed to be in the box. Then you go on line as directed by the code card, enter the code in, c&p the activation code, and enter it where the installation process tells you to. Without the code card in the box you can't activate your copy of Elements 12. It's called a closed box method. There is no activation code on the back of the box.

When they scan the barcode on the box that lets adobe know that the product has been sold and not stolen. There's a information sheet in the box that tells you where to go to enter the redemption code on the sheet. Adobe sends you the activation code that you use and need to keep in your records. You also need to setup a Adobe ID so your product will receive automatic updates. Adobe keep a close eye on their products, you're leasing that product for use on one computer. Try loading it into another computer without deleting it from the first computer and see what happens.

You can have the program on 2 computers. The only thing you can't do is have it running on both computers at the same time.

Thank you everyone for your help. The problem has been solved. It was because of the missing code card including the website to retrieve my activation code. Office Max allowed an exchange for a box that contained the code card. Elements is installed, up and running.
