Alt + 0169 on the 'numeric' keypad on a Windows PC

And that is the "Copyright" symbol, not "Registered TradeMark"

simply placing © is not really registering your copyright, to fully register you must file with the copyright office (US copyright office: http://www.copyright.gov/forms/formva.pdf)

I don't know the source because I had it in my notes, nor have I tried it out because I do not have this kind of keyboard.

The other way is to use the Windows Character Map which is kept in Windows > System32 > charmap.exe

In the Character map, scroll down the font list and select the Symbol font.

Look through the symbols until you find the ©
Double click on © and click on "Copy"

You can now paste the symbol into your text.

Under the "start" button look for the Program Group "Accessories"
In this group you should be able to find the Character Map. Select the symbol and then COPY it and paste into the program where you want it.

MOST fonts have the © symbol that can be copied, doesn't have to be a 'symbol' font.

You need a numeric pad for the Alt+1069 to work. My laptop doesn't have a numeric pad. What I did was to plug in an old Dell desktop keyboard that has a numeric pad into my laptop and it worked perfectly.
