Thanks to all for the help we got from the hog prior to our trip to New England, we had a great trip and got some great images. Now we are planning a trip to far East Texas around Caddo Lake. For those that don't know Caddo Lake is near Marshall, TX and Shreveport, LA. Does anyone have any tips on photo ops in that area? Just for the record I check out the Hog everyday and love all the posts and info here.
Caddo Lake has many photo opportunities available in and around the area. The Spanish moss hanging from the Cypress trees creates some amazing images. Also, the city of Jefferson is nearby and has many, many Antebellum style of homes throughout the town. Take the Big Cypress Bayou tour out of Jefferson for a great view of the area and get an insight of the history and some great photo ops.

Thanks BigTex. We have never been to that area so appreciate your help.
My pleasure Ron. There is also an old plantation in Jefferson that is open for tours. We have stayed in Jefferson several times and always find many interesting things to take in.

Ron,
If you want the rural lifestyle of the Deep South, try Uncertain, TX.
http://www.cityofuncertain.com/There you will find the old Southern way of life along the bayou. You can take boat tours of the bayou, and perhaps photos of wild life like 'gators, turtles, birds, and Humans.
A few years ago a TV series filmed several episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger, in and around the town.
If you can spend a little more than a few hours, you might be able to coax a local to guide you through the wildlife for some interesting pictures. If you stay in town, your best time of day for photos of the water will be around dawn.
