It's been awhile since I've taken any moon shots. So gave it a whirl tonight. But the image looked kind of blah, so I added a star background. If anyone wants to add yours...please feel free. I'm just goofing around tonight since it finally warmed up enough to be outside at night.

Great shot James. reminds me of an old cowboy song
"The Moon is high and so am I, the stars are out and I'll be pretty soon".

Neat shot, James! I think it would be a great wall hanger.

Really nice, James. You might consider sticking a few stars over the dark side of the moon, really confuse people, lol!

Yes, and might confuse NASA as well. Might be a good thing. Maybe they'd wake up and make a trip back to the moon to investigate. The Chinese could have, but alas...they're poor rover crapped out. Must of been made in China (darn I am so bad).

Interesting lyrics...haven't heard it, but lived it in my younger days. Phew, glad that era has passed.

Very nice , James...I have not taken a moon shot in a couple of months....this 45% illumination is very appealing....like the detail produced at the terminus...hope it is clear this evening...

Yea, give it a go...I hope you have clear skies for that. Half-moon tonight, there is a lot of detail at the terminus...might even have more detail tonight. Sadly for me...clouds are moving in. Just have to wait and see.

There's not a lot listed...shot with a Sony SuperZoom 50X camera. Exif says 215mm but I had it zoom out to about 1400mm (hand held). I think the key with this camera is the Zeiss lens. It can take razor sharp images under the right conditions. Below is the data. Now be easy on me boys...I'm just now learning how to do extreme shots with this camera. Like my bird shots...it's taking a period of experimentation to find the best settings, sweet spots of the lens and technics. But it seems to have potential...but will never match up to Brucew29's telescope....Nothing will.
