If you get a chance, see some of her photographs in person. Moving.
I think I have seen these. Is there a name for the photographer? Is it the women at the end?

"Vivian Maier" but I've seen it spelled "Meier" also at the end of the article.

Thanks so much for sharing, very enjoyable!
I love seeing old street pictures. Thanks for the info and link! These are wonderful, with good exposure!
Thank you so much for sharing these. I think I will go see the movie version of her work coming to town her on April 19th.
I'm glad that you all enjoyed the post. Special thanks to HEART for the additional info and links.
Wonderful photography, and what a trip back in time. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing...great shots...love street photos
I get a lot of enjoyment studying her photos. Pretty classic that a woman was not aware, back in the day, of how important her work would be. I was born in 1952 and grew up in Aberdeen, SD. I loved to see the nun in her whole nun habit- I grew up seeing that all the time. Even in South Dakota in the summertime. Kids nowadays can not get a concept of that. The mother downtown with her 2 daughters could have been my biological mother, my sister and I. Females wore dresses back then and we had to walk downtown for dr appt etc. We did not have homeless on the streets but we did have some who lived under the overpass right beside the railroad tracks. They looked about like the grungiest man. Can you let us know when the documentary will be shown? Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Fantastic shots. A real time capsule. I'm assuming that's a selfie of her in the last shot. Nice camera.
The show of her pictures will be in NYC March 28th.
