You are using a photo from Roberts Cameras Ebay listing, so I am guessing this is a total scam on your part??? Sure looks like it from here.

Nice catch. I'm leery of anyone new with less that 100 postings on UHH. I'm also leery of people that don't take PayPal. If you send a check or money order, there's no recourse if you aren't happy with your purchase or if the person simply doesn't deliver. At least with PayPal there's buyer protection.

I'm sure there are a lot of honest folks out there with less than 100 postings. You were one of those folks at one time.

I'm not saying that anyone with less than 100 posts isn't honest, just that it's more difficult for me to trust them. Until they've gained trust here, I'd suggest they start an eBay account and sell their goods there. I've had no problems selling photography equipment on eBay. I also sell through Craigslist sometimes. If it doesn't sell on CL, I'll hold off for a while and try again later. If it still doesn't sell, I'll offer it up on eBay. If you are the trusting kind of person that would send a check to someone that is posting for the first time, is in hiding, and has no feedback as a seller then more power to you. I pray that it works out for you. But I'm a bit more cautious.

For what it's worth, sending a USPS money order is one way to minimize fraud and/or theft. Make sure the money order comments area properly and completely describes the transaction (print small, but legibly) and keep a photocopy. If the seller violates the terms of those conditions, he/she has committed postal fraud, and the US Postal Inspector's office does not take that lightly. There are many inmates today who were accused of heinous crimes, but are serving time for either tax or postal fraud.

I can appreciate how you feel jeep daddy. Glad that MT exposed the scam and no one was taken advantage of.

I think it's great that we can police ourselves, at least those among us who are more knowledgable. I never would have thought of that as a scam. Thanks for the heads-up MT.

This not a scam, your the little boy that cried wolf.

You should think before you disclaim someone honesty.

You do not earn points here by verbally abusing one of the most respected members of this community.

MT always shoots them straight and I have never known him to mislead anyone.

I don't necessarily think your ad is a scam for a non-existent item, but perhaps you do not fully understand the implications of using someone else's photo without their written permission. This may seem harsh, but it is a form of theft and if the owner of the photo wanted to, he could make your life pretty miserable.
