I have been shooting with my Canon 40D for years and have way over 100,000 shutter actuations on this 10MP friend. It was beginning to have an occasional lazy shutter so I figured it was time to treat myself to what will in all probability be my last one. About a month ago, when I decided to try some bird photography, I needed a longer lens, so I invested in the Canon 400mm prime lens. These were shot with my newer Canon 7D body.

These were shot on the 28th, my first days shooting. It appears to me that the new body is a quantum leap forward in it's increased resolution but also with the newer software, it is more faithfully capturing some of the more difficult colors.

Used your tip from previous post about grackles and starlings...shot in full sun.

Thanks for your comments and the thumbup!

Superb combination of camera, lens, and the photographer's eye! The only reason I don't invest in a 400 prime is you have to set focal depth with your feet, and mine don't work that well anymore. But enough about me, you're good! Good on ya Mate!
