If you have some expensive camera gear, I think it makes a lot of sense to disguise it a bit. When you have bags marked "Canon,""Leica," "Nikon," etc., it kind of shouts "steal me!" Brand-name bags seem to cost a lot more than generic bags which can frequently easily be modified for camera use and not attract a lot of attention. When I have to leave camera gear in my car I use a big, clearly-identifiable diaper bag.....something most crooks aren't likely to want to steal.

So true!! This is exactly my line of thinking when i purchased my bag. I didn't want any camera name brands on it. And i also considered diaper bags too. They also have "man bags" that also might work. Point being, you might want to get something that doesn't look like a camera bag. Good luck!!!

I have a Tamrac Velocity 7 Slingpack and love it. I got it used on Ebay for under $15 in like new condition. In fact I liked it so well, I picked up one for my son and my daughter and they both love them. If you need more room, there is a Velocity 9 I believe.
Hello, I sent a PM to you about the camera bag. Please advise.
Thanks,
Myrna

how many lens can you fit in it...I notice you have the D7100 do you find it big enough? I also notice there is a 7X bag ...do you know the difference between the 7 and the 7X?
I just got a Lowepro Fastpack 350 AW backpack for my fast growing Sony camera kit. It is deep enough for a Sony Alpha 77 with VG-C77AM vertical battery Grip, HVL-60M flash, SAL 16- 50 f2.8 SSM, SAL 100 M f2.8 (macro), SAL 70-300 G f4.5/5.6 SSM, Slik 88 tripod and soon to get SAL 50 f1.4.
Although it is a big bag, the top half is designed for general stuff, not lenses I find I am running out of space but do I need to carry more? I might just get a SAL 70-200 G f2.8 in but that would be the lot.
I prefer a two strap backpack as I find a large weight over one shoulder for more than an hour or so to be tiring but I can manage a backpack all day. It is very easy to slip one strap off your shoulder to swing it round to access kit.
No big, bright logo to attract attention and if left in the car I can have a towel hanging out the top half to let people think I've just got a load of general stuff in there.
In response to your question, I put my 7100 in the Velocity 7 with either my 70-300 mm lens or my 18-105 mm lens mounted with the other beside it. I could also fit another lens in the other side or my charger. There is also a pocket for an extra battery, a few extra SanDisk's, a couple of filters, etc. It is not a bag for throwing tons of equipment into but it's great for field work. Comfortable and EZ to get your camera out quickly, it doesn't look like a camera case either. I used it on my trip to the Canadian Rockies & would not want to carry more equipment. I don't know about the more recent versions but I felt the next size up was too big. This is the most functional camera bag (for me) that I have ever used. Best wishes!
I like the 'camera back packs' that Amazon sells for under $50. I have 2 Canons and 2 of Amazon's brand, and am ordering more (28 bucks).
I know the Lowepro Fastpack 350 AW shows a tripod carried either on the side or carried transversely using the straps on the rear. I don't know the weight of a shotgun, but it may enable you to carry it. The only problem I have with shoulder bags is the weight over one shoulder causes neck pain after a couple of hours, I like the weight to be evenly distributed, but then I'm in my late fifties and probably getting a bit past it.
I've just checked bhphoto and the image they have for the Fastpack 350 AW only shows one strap but mine has two.
You can see the two strap model at;

Thanks for the link. The shotgun that I would most likely be using at the same time that I would want my camera weighs around 6 pounds. Transversely would not work for me but on the side would. I'm sure I could get one of our local Amish shops to come up with sew on something that would work for me. :)

Might work if it was a sawn off shotgun
