I hope they both stay in business a long, long time. Not only for their merchandise and good customer service, but some of the best online tutorials can be found at their web sites. We are down to Precision Camera here in Austin, and they have a very knowledgeable staff, great selection and bring in good trainers, they just can't compete on price. I'm afraid most folks go there to get educated, then buy from Amazon, Adorama, B&H or the like online... I know I'm guilty of this.

I bought mainly from Adorama, But B&H carries some things that Adorama doesn't. I now buy locally from Hunts

They both do their best to serve you. Adorama corrected a billing problem 3 months later for me. High praise here.

I have used both, tend to like B&H a little more, but prices and customer service are similar.

I order from B&H for camera equipment and also sometimes Amazon. I don't think I've used Adorama in al long time. I don't get emails from them so I don't think about them. I get offers from B&H & Amazon regularly which makes me see things I want and order. Also free shipping helps!

Adorama usually has restocking fee. BH usually does not. Adorama has missed my shipping dates and did not refund my full due on a return. Adorama CS is one person.

I've bought from both. Cameras, printers, scanners, etc. and never had a problem. Both keep me updated on my purchases. When I called, their sales reps were very knowledgeable. Their prices are about the same. Best of all, not charged sales tax and shipping is free.

I work in Manhattan and I'm within walking distance of both B&H and Adorama. While Adorama is like your local supermarket, B&H is like a warehouse shopping facility. I generally never go to either because I quickly succumb to the 'kid in a candy store' mentality and my wallet just can't take it. But I was wondering what others thought of the shopping experience online. Do you think B&H or Adorama offers the better deals when it comes to pricing and stock? I've bought online from both, but I just thought I'd check in and see what others think about the two, or if there's another photo store that's even better. (I'm an Amazon Prime member, so I do a lot of shopping on there, too.)

Thanks for your input!

They are both equal, but I got top dollar, from B&H, when I sold my Sigma 150-500mm lens to them recently. I would not have received that much from other dealers.

I have had very disappointing customer service from Adorama when their house brands fall apart, and their protection-insurance is handled by the worst company I have dealt with, so I go with B&H now.

I bought my Tamron lens from B+H and my printer (Pro-100) and new Sigma macro lens (in a big brown truck in town as we speak) from Adorama. B+H didn't have the Sony mount, but I'd buy from either of them again. My local store overcharges on most stuff anyways, not to mention the tax savings.

Hey TG, I always enjoy the incredible shots you post on FB. I'll return to Alaska one of these days...and hope for a few more sunny days.

I have done business with both. It depends who is running a special or if they have a certain unit available when I buy a used lens

the only thing I have against adoramais their prices on used equipment for example Nikon lenses. they will state what is wrong with the lens ( for example fungus , doest focus to infinity, slow focus etc but still want $200 for the lens. KEH has the best prices anywhere on used gear.i picked up a sigma 28-110 and a tamaron 28-110 both rated ug for $6 fo rthe sigma and $4 for the tamaron. when they came they looked brand new and I couldn't see what is wrong with them.
