I so enjoy what you are doing, and you don't even have to travel far to get these! A well taken shot is never boring. Ever.

Thank you again, Carlysue for your very kind words.
As I write this, more snow is falling here making it difficult to travel anywhere to take photographs of different birds so you might be seeing more House Finch photos.
I read several Tamron 150-600mm lens reviews lately and all of the critics like this lens. One even said the Tamron 150-600mm lens comes as close as 95% in quality to the super Canon and Nikon $10,000 plus lenses. He went on to say why should anybody spend that much money when you can buy this Tamron lens for a fraction of their cost.

Great photos. Do you calibrate your lens (I think it is called AF compensation?) or just use as is? Just curious regarding the sharpness

Thank You Regis for you input in my first introduction I mentioned I wanted to be just like you when I grow up. I ordered a used 50-500 sigma from B&H but on further inspection found it was a older one without OS.
So I returned it and ordered Tamron 150-600 should be here Friday this is going on a canon 60D which I bought on e-bay couple weeks ago I am happy with this purchase.
Can't wait to see your eagle pictures with this lens.

Thank you, srodday for your kind input. I don't calibrate my lens. As you can see, my photos are sharp so I follow an old adage ' if it isn't broke, don't fix it'.

More House Finch photos from yesterday which was cold but sunny. The sunshine helped bring out the detail.

These photos were taken about 20-25 feet away @ 600mm.

Beautiful images. I would love to have this lens. Looks like you are really happy with it.

John, thank you for your compliment about me. You will be happy with your new Tamron 150-600mm lens and this lens will open a new world of quality and sharpness. According to the reviews I have read in the last few weeks, all the lens critics praised this lens by saying it is the best 150-600mm zoom lens for the money in the world. It even comes 95% close in quality to the super telephotos that are priced $10,000 or more.
Once you get your lens, practice and practice with it and your camera settings. You must have good settings (aperture, shutter, ISO, metering, etc.) before you will get a good photo and of course your new Tamron lens will bring in the sharpness that you want. Practice.
Yes, I am anxious to take those bald eagle photos with my new Tamron lens, but I will have to wait until this December before I can use it unless I spot a lone eagle somewhere.

Thank you, liv2paddle. I would be posting more images if the weather was better. Cold snowy/rain conditions prevent me from getting other wildlife shots.
All the Tamron 150-600mm lens reviews I have read recently are saying good things about this new lens. There are no other lens in this price range that can compare to the Tamron.
