Some UHH members have asked me to show and compare a Tamron 150mm photo to a Tamron 600mm photo at a far distance (3,100 feet to 4,800 feet).

actually i'm very impressed by the quality of the color, shooting that distance over that much water can wash out a poor lens pretty quickly.

Regis. A very interesting exercise, it shows off the capabilities of the Tamron. It seems to me its performance be better than I ever imagined a $1100 approx. lens would be. It would be a great comparison if your exercise could be tried with both the Tamron and the Big Sig (50-500 or/and 150-500) side by side . From what I have seen from your 6D shots the Tamron would outperform the Sigmas.

Thank you for looking, washy. I don't like to change 2 large lenses outdoors especially during the winter. However, I might do that comparison some day, but I am sure the Tamron will win.

Nice!! I think my Sigma 150-500 may be looking for a new home.
