I don't believe I write this, but I do miss the D800 every now and then, I was considering to buy one back, but then the Df popped up and I am very much wrestling with that decision which one to buy, I do not care about video, my take on that is if you need video then buy a good damn video camera which is dedicated to it, a DSLR should be a DSLR, period, from my point of view drop the video of a DSLR and improve pricing on it!
I any case, thank you very much for your input, some of it very amusing and some of it very interesting and helpful, still don't know what to do..........

it's plane to see where your coming from , but the video in the DSLR is a better deal than you seem to know about . you can change to different len's
wide angle to telephoto . and chose a lot better qualty that comes with most camcorders . and the low light works for video also . plus you can make high qualty 35 millimeter movies . worthy of any top movie production that you can find on the big screen . and any movie camera that can match that is way
heaver and cost at least $6000 if not more for interchangeable len's .
I for one would not buy it with out video . I don't use it much but it's there . when I do . there is some episodes of braking bad that were shot with a DSLR
plus other tv shows . so that is why some people in the know want DSLR video
