Nasty, rainy and chilly front brought in some very hungry black birds. I'm not sure what species, common blackbird or purple grackle? Please help to identify, try the downloads.

Nice pics., jwt, those look like Common Grackles of the purple race. :thumbup: :-D

They look a lot like bronze cowbirds, but it's hard to say for sure what species they are.

Definatly Grackles jwt. They can empty one of my feeders in one session!

They can definitely empty a feeder fast and push the other birds away. I hate it when they come through. Trees are full of them.

Thanks for stopping by medavis, and you described them perfectly, the trees had a couple dozen on standby while several were emptying the feeder. Appreciate you viewing them.
