Thank You all for your kind comments. For those who have asked, the ship spends part of the year at our dock in Athens, NY. It docks at Ver Plank, NY for the winter. Most of it's routine maintenance is done here. It's sailings can last for a day or several weeks. The crew is mostly volunteer. Volunteers are always welcome and photographers can often be accomodated with advance arrangements. Feel free to contact me about it.

Yes. In fact it was there this past late summer or early fall for about a week. I believe there was some type of festival going on. It usually is in Kingston at least once a year. It will also often overnight in Kingston when going up or downriver. Good photo op.

The company I work for helps support the replica ship Half Moon and allows it to use our Hudson River dock during the summer. Snapped this one morning when I got to work last April. Fortunately I had my camera. (Now I rarely leave home without it). Sent it to the chief meteorologist at WTEN in Albany, NY and he showed it on air. My 15 seconds of fame! Any critiques would be appreciated.

Perfect shot!

Lovely. Stunning colors and love the rigging and other ship details. Did you by chance get any shots of the entire ship? On that morning or any other time? And where exactly is this on the Hudson? Thanks and thanks for sharing!
