I saw the new i-phone that I would like. The lady in front of me at Walmart had one. I noticed it while she was digging for her food stamps.

I saw a commercial for a pair of cell phones so you can keep in touch with your kid. If you have ebt you will qualify! how wrong is this. Everything has become a need not a want. I think if they did a survey on people without heath insurance I bet 99% of them have cell phones yet i still carry a regular cell not a smart phone.

"I think," "I bet." No facts here, just emotion.

Again some one is speaking of what they think NOT the facts.
EBT cards automatically sort out non authorized items and reduce fraud- .

Not when the item is entered with just price under groceries without scanning bar code. Seen it. In many states. There's always a way around things. Honest people don't try to think how to..

Ever look on Ebay or Craigslist and see for sale--$400.00 worth of food stamps on bridge card for $250.00 cash?? but no abuse per our Gov. A good program that is full of abuse and it sucks.

WHY would anyone sell $400 worth of food stamps???? Everybody has to eat.

Spend the SNAP funds on food and use what you save for your drugs.

What you say doesn't make sense.

That is with the co-operation of a crooked merchant - did you turn them in? They are punished with fines, loss of the EBT card machine and jail time when honest people take action.

Sarge, if you read my post CAREFULLY you will see that I referred to it as a 'benefit.'

No controversy there.

Whatever the government says they can spend it on, they can spend it on.

By the way, YOU don't send them the money, the government sends them the money. You may have owned part of it, once upon a time, but it ain't your money.

You didn't buy any jets, either, or tanks, or aircraft carriers--the government did!

You just paid your taxes, like any honest man would.

If you didn't approve of the Pentagon budget, could you cancel it, because it's your money?

No hostility toward you, sarge, you're just wrong this time.
