Wow, that is beautiful. Your bird shots showed beautiful wings and you made them into art. Love it.
Thank you Heirloom Tomato. I am now searching for those images that have that characteristic, but are not necessarily great exposures otherwise. I think if you can get good sharp images to start from, they can always be separated out for a more graphic approach instead of informational detail.
Thank you Selkii. My wife thinks I spend too much time with my photography. We don't have one piece of my work displayed in my house. Go Figure. Loads of friends and relatives have them though.
Very creative and elegant. Has an oriental feel to it...think it is the background. Well done. I have a huge ongoing texture folder, about 50% are my own,and the rest downloaded from here and there. Some photos just beg for an artistic rendition.
I was mucking with this image, as I have found some uses for my throw-away images. I liked the highlighted features in the wings, so I didn't toss this one. The first shot shows what I started with. Enjoy.
Well you certainly have lots of talent. What a great way to salvage your image and because your were kind enough to post your process...I got to learn something. So Thank you Bozsik.

Thanks James. I have a lot of teaching I have done over the past 40 years. I have taught in the class, out in the field, and designed natural history exhibits for museums. I love enjoying nature, and also sharing any info I can with others. The sharing of information is more important than sharing your money, because when you are gone, nobody will benefit from the information you have to give. The lock-box has no key after you are dead.
Impressive, especially that you are thinking outside the box! Love that you salvaged a photograph doomed to the discard bin and made it fun and creative. I like the light coming through the wing feathers as well.

Thank you carlysue. I guess when I stop thinking of new things to do is when they bury me, eh?
