Looks like the pole has gone through the boat
Nice rich colors

Sweet workmanship, deserving of some closeup shots but that pole has to go.
The boat is well placed in the photograph and the definition is good. However, the overall photograph is not very inspiring. There has been comments on the reflection of the pole, which is fair.
If you could have got closer to the boat, shot from a different view point to add a bit more interest. Just my thoughts though - Keep clicking.
I would clone out the post. You can't see it above the water, so it is not necessary, and creates a bit of a distraction.
thanks for the comments. I took this image about 4 months ago and something keeps drawing me back to it. removing the pole does nothing for it. I think it takes something away from it. I'm not sure what draws me to it. like I said thanks for the imput.

Perhaps if the boat was facing the other direction you would have got the whole pole from top to bottom. That way you would have every thing you wanted in the frame. I know you like that pole. jmho
I think that the shot is over-saturated
Even though I am a novice I can see the quality is very good but the angles in the composition seem uncomfortable for me. Perhaps it is the position of them in the photo or the relationship of them to each other. However, I have only a little experience and may be completely wrong. Nice photo anyway.
I agree with you Dave. I like the pole too. The only things I would have done differently in processing perhaps would have been to crop it so the pole extended off the bottom of the picture, and toned the brightness of the pole a tad so your eye is drawn back to the boat. I love that you were able to catch the water in the bottom of the boat and how the pole is reflected in it. It draws the whole composition together. Nice shot.

Beautiful picture. The little dinghy looks like a model I built for a friend some years ago.
I have to agree with the others. The reflection of the pole isn't working. Maybe more because it is light and colored whereas the part of the actual pole you can see is pretty much black.
Maybe if it's available in the original image you could try including the top part of the pole with a little "air" above it. That might make the reflection look more like a reflection and less like something stuck to the bottom of the boat.
All that being said....the image quality appears to be excellent and the only thing that detracts from the composition is the reflection of the pole.
