Ice lanterns

I used soda bottles and made up a dozen each year. Fun to make, fun to photograph

I have picked Ice as my topic even though I am in deep south Texas...and yes we do get some once in a blue moon here!...but it is usually freezing rain! It is going down to the mid to high 30's here tonight with a wind chill factor. They are already advising parents to make sure the kids are dressed properly tomorrow. ...anyway...I just got sidetracked....;-) I have chosen ice to give myself and you a chance to be creative. Please submit anything that even remotely looks like ice and if you don't have any...that is o.k. too! Send something along anyway!
What I did to challenge myself was to drop ice cubes into a fish tank and try to catch the action. I also dropped some other things in and then turned the picture 180 degrees and it looks like they are jumping out and froze in place! The trinkets are out of focus as I have to figure out a way to drop them in the same spot each time and I have yet to get enough light and less noise, but I will keep practicing!

So have fun with this challenge, use your imagination and lets see what you got! Cheers!

Thanks so much for hosting, Clicker; I was hoping to be able to post some new shots per the topic. I ended up keeping Grandkids when school was out due to sub-zero temps. My daughter & her family are on their way to stay due to busted water pipes despite their best preventative efforts! Here's one from yesterday!
