These were pretty good.
You can serve them sweet or not, these were served with SF syrup.

Ingredients:
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive or coconut oil
3 slices bacon
2 mini peppers (I didn't have any so i used chives)
1/3 cup vanilla (or plain) protein powder
1 egg
1 oz sharp cheddar cheese
Makes 2 Servings.

Nutrition Info per serving (3 mini donuts):
2.4g Carbs (0.3g Fiber)

The recipe is here:

I buy that sam tub of Louanna Coconut oil for around $5.50 at a local grocery chain. Seen half that size for $15 at health food, vitamin and drug stores. Anyway, I make sure to eat at least 3oz of the stuff daily. Excellent saturated fat.

You can use coconut milk in some recipes like smoothies but you have to be careful, most of the can linings use BPA which really leaches into the coconut. And coming from places like Thailand....But that Louanna product is excellent.

I don't do the Low Sugar products, don't do any sugar at all. Find sweetening with stevia or saccharine is safer. You can cook with saccharine, btw.

I like popcorn, hence the coconut oil. Be careful of the saccharine. Even though it came back on the market because researchers changed their minds about the connection between it and bladder cancer. beware. My dad was diabetic since he was 33. He had to take insulin twice a day and the only sweetener available at the time was saccharine. He was a less than moderate user of it and he took very good care of himself. Well, he got bladder cancer and died from that. He only made it to 71. I just love big business.

I"m sorry about your Dad but the problem is that you've drawn a conclusion where none may exist...

Humans do that all of the time...(not insulting you) but to draw conclusions from one-person sample size doesn't a conclusion make.

People have eaten saccharine and all manner of fake sugars for years without ill effects....there isn't a proven connection.

Good point. But I think aspartame and sucralose are pretty much poisonous. I guess I'll reconsider stevia.

Oh, I know that. I am not insulted at all. It just seems like a coincidence that saccharine was taken off of the market because early studies showed a connection between it and bladder cancer in mice. After a few years pass, it is back on the market with researchers saying that the earlier tests were incorrect. Then my father dies of bladder cancer and all he ever had as a sweetener was saccharine?

I do wonder though if indeed my father was just a single sampling? Are there others that we don't know about? Is it fact a huge cover up followed by a conspiracy?

This could be the makings for a best selling novel; perhaps even a movie deal from that. I am not talking an independent film either. I am talking Disney!

It gets worse. It was 4 years ago December 21st when my older brother died. He was a health food maniac, to say the least. I am talking the real deal. Cinnamon, honey, did not smoke, that sort of thing. I, on the other hand, ate almost nothing but Hostess Cupcakes and drank Mountain Dew for a whole year while in college. He literally smacked me upside my head when he found out. see:

This was back in the 70's. As you can see by my post, Hostess Cupcakes are still one of my favorites. My brother said that this was going to clog my arteries and ruin my liver and kidneys, blah, blah, blah.

He stroked out parked in a loading dock at a Fed EX facility preparing to send Christmas gifts to the family. He died before he even got to the hospital.

Bob, they were two of the smartest, kindest. and most gentle people one could ever meet. Me, on the other hand, well, Denis Leary wrote a song about me.

I miss my Daddy and my brother. Now to go and find that coconut oil.
