What do you need to know?
The a58 is built down to a price so a57 users are not impressed but new users get a very well priced camera.

Bought a58 in july. I got it with the 18-135 lens. This is a GREAT camera for the money ! I have never had so much fun with a camera in my life !! The pictures are just WOW !!

Thanks for the input, folks. A friend at work found this on the internet and asked for my thoughts but but I don't know anyone with a Sony so this is the reason for the question.
His biggest wants are 18-24 megapixels and 1080p video. Any suggestions are welcome. Oh yeah, the important part - he would like to keep the price around $500 or less.
My suggestion was a Nikon D3200 which I found with an 18-55 lens for slightly less than his target price but I will pass along anything that meets the criteria.
