I am looking for a Company to purchase a Nikon D 800 Body from, can any one out there recommend a Reputable
Store ! ( B&H ) N.Y. ? And No ! I don't mind paying a little more for a store, that will offer excellent service and support.

PS. Bye the way, Thanks Guys for all the feed back on lens
selection for the D 800.

Adorama is about equal to B&H in my book.
Calumet as well.
I sometimes order from Focus camera too.
i've had no problems from any of them.
I buy for not only my department at the university, but others as well.

The prices are going to be about the same, unless a shady dealer offers it for less. You have lots of good choices: Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Hunt's, Roberts Camera - the list goes on. The good far outnumber the bad. The disreputable ones generally go out of business and open up with a different name.

^^^All three of the dealers mentioned in the previous post are excellent with GREAT customer service.

IF you can find a good brick and mortar store within 100 miles of your location however, I would STRONG urge you to consider them.

There is nothing like establishing a good relationship with authorized dealers that you can talk to face to face.

Even if the gear costs a LITTLE more, it's worth it to have a local expert that you can trust.

I try to do as much business as I can with my local folk... but DO rely on B&H, Adorama and Calumet for other items and services. ;)

I bought my D800e from B&H this month and am very happy with them. Waiting for my reward points to kick in to make my next purchase.

Reward points are great. I got a Blu-ray player for free from Crutchfield.

I know a guy who owned a camera shop for 3 decades before selling out to a chain and retiring.

I purchased an AWFUL lot of gear and film from him over the years and we became good friends. Why? Because I was a good customer, he started doing things to KEEP me coming back. Everything from fixing minor problems with my cameras for free to giving me 3 for 2 deals on film AND developing.

He used to say "I'm not trying to make a KILLIN; just a livin."

Keep in mind that I drove 123 miles ONE WAY to trade with this guy.

A good local camera dealership is plus to be sure... ;)
