Oh yes! Here we go again the loser declares the game over because he knows he is losing and wants to stop before everyone recognises the fact. Too late mate - we all knew that about 5 pages ago.

I have no objection to efforts to clean up our environment, but as you say it's all about money, and not about the climate. Time has proved out that the dire predictions of the climate models of the 1990's and early 2000's were completely baseless. Not a single one predicted what actually occurred during the first 12 years of the new century, yet they still keep peddling their silly BS. If we'd simply put the same time and effort into useful efforts to reduce pollution and urge third world countries like India and China to do likewise, the money would be far better spent than chasing this fantasy that we can control the climate.

Maybe so but please don't stop. The "noisy minority have, for far too long, held centre stage in this issue, just as they have in a whole bunch of issues today.
To paraphrase something you said before " We have to push the facts into the path of their ignorance"

Al Gore predicted the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years. Gore made the prediction to a German audience in 2008. He told them that the entire North polarized cap will disappear in 5 years.
Today Cairo had its first snowfall in 100 years.

Climate change is a complex issue and the evidence goes both ways depending on where you look. Just like the economy some places are suffering while other places seem impervious. Its about trends not individual data points. The better minds recognize this.
Would climate change happen even if humans were not present. Of course it would. Its a natural earthly process. Nobody that I know disputes that. But we are a major contributing factor and accelerate the process.
What if the climate change advocates are wrong. So we end up with new technologies, cleaner air and water, healthier children and generally the quality of life improves.
If they are right and we do nothing we bring down the worst plague imaginable on our children and their descendants. Your worst nightmare would be a cake walk a few generations in the future.
It seems like a no brainer to me.

Obviously you didn't read my posts on the scientific method, and the facts brought out by the ClimateGate scandals. There in absolutely no provable fact that mans is accelerating climate change. As for doing something toward prevention even if unnecessary, then no harm no foul (so to speak) sure if you don't mind throwing money hand over fist toward a problem that doesn't exist.
The "if they are right" part of your comment goes right to the fear-mongering side of the debate. There has been ZERO warming for over 15 years, there is ZERO evidence that warming causes more severe weather, and there is ZERO need to cause so much turmoil in the energy sector that people can't afford fuel anymore. There is however, no question that higher levels of CO2 increase crop yields, and that is a very good thing.
Thanks for your comments, it does go to further prove my belief that everyone has an opinion on the subject, no matter how factually uninformed it may be. I only hope that some reasoned and well informed information from someone who fully understands science and how it does and doesn't work will shine some enlightenment on those who still have an open enough mind to accept those facts, at least enough to spark some real study on the issue.
By all means don't take my word for all of this, but by the same token, don't buy all the hype from the alarmists who are peddling pseudo-science in the guise of the real thing. There is an old poem that says "in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king". Don't be blinded by adherence to a false narrative, there is too much evidence to the contrary to be found by those who are willing to open an eye.
Ever hear of the Sahara sea? That's right, an inland sea where the Sahara is now. They have found the remains of whales deep in the Sahara desert. So why isn't it a sea anymore?
One theory is due to the Earths wobble.
http://astro.wsu.edu/worthey/astro/html/lec-precession.htmlThis wobble definitely affects our climate and there isn't any of it that humans can affect.

Yeah, but that doesn't fit the alarmist narrative. :?

This seems to apply to some in this discussion...
Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore, and even deny anything that doesnt fit in with the core belief.

Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up!
