You should join Find A Grave. They send you assignments in your area to find and photograph head stones. Check it out

Great captures. I secretly love going to the cemetery and taking my camera, it's so nice and peaceful there.

Here are a couple of mine.

so i went to the local cemetery with my mum today so i thought awesome! photo ops! these are just a couple of the ones that i took. Have never taken pics at a cemetery before so not quite sure how i did! Please critique where needed! Thanks

I love the last one with headstones as background. My only suggestion is that in the future, take the time to make sure your composition is the best it can be. In this one, you cut off the feet of your subject. In situations like this where time is not important, bring along a tripod and you'll love the results.

I am new here. I had a photo I took at a pet cemetary that I wanted to post, but can't quite figure out how to post!

Hey! It finally popped up, so I did something right! I know that it is not centered, and the lighting is not the best, but there is something very endearing about the photo. I looks like a child buried their best friend, and it's the feeling behind the photo.

Good stuff. Bottom one may have been better if you had taken a half-step to the right. The bad news is it took me twenty years to remember to get the feet in. As you can see my top shot I sometimes still forget. To confuse you even further, sometimes the shot is the feet, and then of course there is the matter of soft focus.......! The good news is it only took me ten years to discover that I could kneel down! The only rule that really matters in photography is the more you practice the luckier you get. Good stuff. Well done.

My favorites are the last two. Great shots.

I love your shots. I also love shooting in cemeteries. I had a photo album printed titled "Seasons of the Cemetery" I shot the same cemetery in all seasons. I had a ball. Here are 3 shots from the book.

I go into cemeteries with my daughter and mother-in-law.
my mother-in-law has been doing genealogy for the past 40+ years. We go in the cemeteries to find headstones of our relatives and clean them up and photograph for findagrave.com.

Here is a shot of the WWII section of Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Massachusetts where my wife's great uncle was buried.

That's a beautiful shot. How do you 'clean' the stones?

I like the last one a lot but I think it'd be cooler if you got the whole cherub in the photo instead of cutting out the feet.

Cemetery shots are particularly challenging, re backgrounds, angles etc. But I do enjoy the challenge myself. I am always looking for a marker that brings up emotions in me. Then I try to get a shot that captures a bit of my emotion. There's always a story. One I like is at http://InstantKeepsake.com.

I also look for interesting epitaphs, like photo attached.

There is some great cemetery photography at NyghtFalcon.com, my local photog mentor.

I live in Texas, there are more than a few civil war monuments ... most honor the confederate Soldiers (if not all of them).

Next time you go there put a infrared filter on the lens and see if you capture any ghosts. I went to a ghost seminar and they were showing pics using that filter. Boo 8-)

You will need a tripod to shoot off of since that filter is dark.

Well,
What an interesting range of images your cemetery snaps have produced....... You are Manna from photographers heaven indeed!
I thought the old lady entering the churchyard added something to the scene. Don't know if The Cenotaph is the biggest tombstone in London but certainly one of the most is impressive. Mr and Mrs Fatt are still together in Southwark Cathedral. (Shame about the chair foot!) Tree as memorial marker (Tombtree?) Thaks for sparking the subject.
