Hi, I am glad I found the uglygedgehog. I recently upgraded my Nikon coolpix 8800 to the D5100. So I will be adding photos and comments about my experiences. We had some beautiful sunsets on the Oregon Coast recently. All were taken with the D5100.

Welcome! #1 - The colors, shadows and sharpness of the foreground waves are very lovely. #3 - be careful of sloping horizons :)

Welcome to the Hog, Rockin. Glad to have you with us. Nice set. My favorites are the first and last one. It appears that your horizon in both isn't level. Both are a little high on the right. ;)

Thanks for the welcome. At the time I didn't have my tripod and was hand holding the d5100. I appreciate the critique. Since this is my first DSLR I truly appreciate any and all advice. Thanks. Right after I took the sunset pics I saw a Coast Guard boat coming into harbor. Enjoy
