I have never heard of waffle.com and based on the type of satire they like to publish, I will not spend anytime on their website and Yes I know they do not care.

Typical of many posts on many subjects!  :-) :-)

Hey guys, besides checking the validity of the sources everyone is quoting, find "Argon Elementary School in San Francisco." Also CNN makes no reference to Timothy Dawson. See also previous posts on this thread regarding this "incident" being a spoof.
Many, including myself will read a post and make a comment before reading farther down to read other comments that were made by the poster and others. The website looked okay. Why they would give out false information is beyond reason. Father checking shows that the original source, National Reporter is a left-wing Liberal Website designed to look like a Conservative website for the purpose to mis-lead. Satire? Far from it.

Gotcha, I've done it myself. :)
Yeah, the story originated in the National Report website, a satire site sort of like a political Onion, but believed by the gullible, like many UHH posters.
Americans are wierd! Why is the original article reproduced about 10 times? Isn't once enough?

You got to be kidding. I can site at least 100 incidences where reference to Christmas as a religious event has been banned. I AM an ATHEIST, but I am also an American who believes you have the right to believe as you wish. To hear that nativity scenes are banned but a "neutral" reference to the "holiday" is allowed goes beyond absurd. Geez, when was the last time you heard a Salvation Army person wish passerby a merry CHRISTMAS? Children being chastised by school officials for referencing Jesus or Christmas despite it not being illegal to do so. All because they are afraid of the PC police and the implications they bring. The anti christian brigade goes on and on. The list goes on and on.
You guys on the left won't be happy until we are all speaking arabic and American women are dressed in burkas.

Yes steve, stories like this rather true or not does matter to us Right-Wingers. It should piss us all off yourself included. A little six year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing the hand of his little kindergarten girlfriend. A student suspended for a year for hugging his teacher. Little boys can not even point their index finger without being sent home. This is going on all over the country. Our school system is going nuts. And yes, you can be suspended for what you say, or draw. Religion is not allowed in school. Too many stories that are true and you want to jump me and other Right-Wingers over a story that was exposed as false (by me and others). Aren't you even a little pissed about our school system going over board with this strict PC? You should!

I'm sorry, but citing a story from a website that has Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin's pictures on the masthead is a joke......

Yes it is... I thought so also. Did you think it was a Conservative Website? Check again.

Information I found on the net claims this story to be false and satire. Let's hope so. If not the teacher should be canned like a fruit cake at Christmas Tyme.

Close the school or get the principal fired !
It is false. The story is satire.
The website which published this article is the satirical National Report. The fictional story tells of a student who offended his atheist teacher by saying Merry Christmas.
I say Merry Christmas to everyone, the boy told CNN. I didnt think it would cause so much trouble just for saying a couple little words.
The boys mother, Laura Dawson, 41, was fuming over the issue.
You dont traumatize a child who loves to go to school, who wanted to be early every day to school, you dont make him cry, just for wishing someone Merry Christmas, she told reporters, holding back tears. You just dont do it.
The story has been shared on social media websites, and was also repeated by LiveLeak, without mention that its source is satirical in nature.
National Report
National Report has a disclaimer which clearly states that the website produces satirical content. The disclaimer which has been removed on at least one occasion reads:
*DISCLAIMER: National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental . The views expressed by writers on this site are theirs alone and are not reflective of the fine journalistic and editorial integrity of National Report. Advice given is NOT to be construed as professional. If you are in need of professional help (and you may be if you are on this page), please consult a professional. Argon Elementary
Further proof of the articles fictitious nature is the school named in the article. The story cites Argon Elementary School in San Francisco. This appears to be a variation of a real school there by the name of Argonne Elementary.
The photo used in the story included a caption which read, Outside Argon Elementary school where the war on Christmas was declared. The image is actually a snapshot of Parrs Ridge Elementary School in Maryland.
An email address for the teacher is included at the end of the article, which prompts angry readers to write in to wish him a Merry Christmas. We suspect this address was probably set up to either track the popularity of the fake article, or to collect email addresses of readers.
Bottom Line
A 9-year old was not suspended for saying Merry Christmas to his teacher. The story was published by a satirical website.
This is just an example of where being "Politically Correct" to the extent we are can take us. Bah Humbug!!! Robin PS MERRY CHRISTMAS

No, I did not copy anything from that site. I read it from facebook by someone else. There are a number of other sites that had also picked the story up. As for the National Report website, they call themselves news?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_ReportBTW UP-2-IT, I am way ahead of you on reporting that the story is false. I did try to check it agaibnst CNN.
Like yourself and a lot of others here I am prone to "leap before looking" at a post that is obviously BS. Why post something inflammatory without checking for truthfulness before posting. That takes away any creditability that you may have.
In reading all of the responses I do see your retraction, only after others checked it before you did.
With so much confusion and discord running rampant I simply don't think this is the time to start more.
