They are...They get about a break on the cost as the government picks up about 75% of the premium...Since it is "free money" why wouldn't they take it?...There are some Republicans in Congress who have not taken it but they are well off... Seems all of the Democrats (including those who are well off) have taken the subsidy as well, even though they can afford private plans...Talk about squeezing every last dime out....Here is a link to the wealthiest 50 people in Congress in 2013...

There is, of course, always the option to sign up for insurance off exchange. It was a whole lot easier to do. That's what I did for my son. I had no problem contacting an agent several times and getting quotes for several different policies. After filling out the application, he received notice that his insurance would be effective January 1st, the day his old insurance expires, and they've sent him his i.d. number and group number, as well as debiting our account for his first month's premium. All within a week.

That's what I did...the only differences being that I used healthcare.gov and that before ObamaCare I couldn't get coverage due to a pre-existing condition.

I'm glad that this opened up insurance for you, Rix. We're paying $200 less for my son but his deductible is $6000. We decided to go with the high deductible since he should get employer insurance within a year. Texas has an insurance program for people who can't qualify for insurance called the Texas Health Pool. It will be dying out now since Obamacare makes them insurable. He's been on this since he exhausted Cobra. This is def. one of the good things about the A.C.A.

Florida is run by a infamous insurance scam master named Rick Scott. He has put laws on the books to prevent people from helping others get health insurance under the new laws.

The law says that the Congress is required to sign up. The Democrats voted themselves an exemption but so far the only one to use it is Harry Reid.

Cruz is one of many in Congress that have argued that they should live under the same laws we do, so he is simply following his own code of ethics as are most of the Republicans. It is nice to see some in Congress actually trying to do the right thing and live by their promises.

What is hypocritical about Rubio enrolling in Obamacare or in taking the employer subsidy? It seems to me that he has enrolled because the law requires him to do so, and that the employer subsidy is not materially different than employer-paid health care offered to many Americans.
