compact flash memory card

Any suggestions as to which is the best of the compact flash memory cards for my 7d. Thanks for the help

There isn't really a "best", but with so many choices out there, I agree that some suggestions can help. I like my Lexar 1000x card. The speed helps with transfer time to my computer.

See which brands are recommended for your camera. I like Lexar and Hoodman, but my camera store staff tells me that Lexar has the highest failure rate. Sandisk is usually on most manufacturers approved list.

yes check your camera manual for what chips to use i use sandisk and make sure you use the highst # example sandisk ultra 30mb/s 10 64mb realy like this one it seems to keep up

I use SanDisk Extreme 16GB cards most of the time. I shoot the large raw format and on my 7D can get about 560 photos per card. I also use 8GB cards on occasion, for back up. I do fill up the 16Gb cards on occasion but don't want all my "eggs in one basket" so to speak so don't use larger cards. These cards are 60 MB cards (transfer speed) and are plenty fast enough for me even though I shoot continuous at 8fps.
These cards are a little more expensive than many but worth it to me. The last thing I want to do is lose my photos because I wanted to save ten or fifteen dollars.

The critical aspect (besides size) is the speed of the card. The speed requirement varies with the size of the file. The larger the file, the longer it takes to load to the card. Video also needs a fast card.

A friend of mine uses this card in his 7D and it seems to shoot faster than my 7D and the buffer doesn't fill up as fast as mine. I use the Lexar 600x.
