[quote=laskalass]well it is right above the stairs leading down to the yard and its broken like that because of the efforts of hubby to try to knock it off the wires. Its very hard to reach and I dont want him falling downstairs...but at least it isnt encasing the wires anymore.
That is a lot of ice! When I bought my current place it was a bare piece of land and we chose to have all the utilities buried. Your picture makes me glad that option was chosen. Burrrr
A walk in the woods gave me this yesterday! East Texas is beautiful no matter the season.

Post for today - It's officially winter in Pa
Too funny and here I am in north Fl shivering at 45 degrees!
I believe I posted my Friday the 13th photos in the wrong place. I'll catch on to this site one of these days! I'll re post just in case. It was a good day but maybe because I had forgotten that it was the 13th! When on vacation I tend to forget what day it is!
better late than never....I was running slow yesterday. Got these at the end of the work day & didn't have the energy to download them to my computer. Here is my picture taken Friday the 13th. (stupid camera wouldn't focus on the bird, took me about 38 shots to get one pic where he is 1/2 way clear.....so very frustrating! so ready for my DSLR)

It's Friday the 13th !! Hope there aren't any superstitious folks out there today ....It's always been lucky for me ...I was born on Friday the 13th. My daughter was born on Halloween LOL ...something just not right there.
I had nothing to get us started today and I looked out my patio door and this is what I saw ....
Unedited because frankly it's a terrible shot but I loved the way the sun's rays were coming through the tree.
Let's see what moves you on this very questionable date.

what is your aperture on missStephie...did I tell you I looked around the menu for our Oly's and found a place to adjust the focus meter...I did not try it. it is on the second page of the main menu. I also found a place to work in MANUAL FOCUS...but it was really weird. No lens to turn...you have to use the buttons on the wheel...kinda freaked me out a little so I only shot two pics that way then turned it off.
Getting a slow start here myself. Hope to get outside a little later but it is very cold here..I know, cant complain since we dont have snow but cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool out.

These are cool. I love the way the 2nd pic turned out, too. That's a neat effect. Here's an outhouse I shot a couple of years ago...
UH- what's this? Looks like it hasn't been used for a while. What do they do, go in the house? Snow still piled up in front of the door............................

This is gorgeous MissStephie!
I believe the hawk is a Coopers hawk, the sharp shinned has a pointed tail, the coopers hawk has the black bands on it's tail

Miss Stephie, this is gorgeous. This would make a fantastic Christmas card. How did you get the background grey or does it just appear grey? :-P

Well, I would love to take a nice vacation...to Las Vegas or Hawaii or florida....just somewhere warm...with no snow!! But at least now the sun comes up by 9:00 so its getting earlier...and its still dark by 4:00...but Dec 21st was the shortest day...so now it will lengthen by about 5 min a day until June it will be 24/7 daylight.
