I prefer the original as the overall exposure is more to my liking and the details in the background are clearer. I would use levels (or curves) to reduce the black mass a bit on the right to show some lightness and details. Compositionally, that's the first thing that grabs the attention and then following the bridge and reflections to the other side to look at the boat and buildings. Nice framing of the boat. I would also darken the top edges of the sky using the burn tool to hold the visual attention in. See how the darker edges of the water on the bottom edge keeps you within the image?
