Here's another version of a monkey portrait. No artificial background added.

This is the best of them so far...

Thank you, Bloke. When I looked at this full screen (F11 on the keyboard) his eyes transfixed me. I wish I could know what the monkey is thinking. I wish there were no language barrier between us and other primates.

The term "blown out" has nothing to do with definition. The term refers to exposing the sensor to a quantity of light equal to or greater than that which causes it to generate an output equivalent to its calibrated maximum.

You tell 'em, W/R! Well said. :-P :-P

No they are just blended in too close. These were done quickly as an example of what might be done. They are by no means perfect. To get the hair right on these would take a long time, for me any way.

I know what you mean. My selection skills are weak, I am not yet to the place where I would even try it. Your versions made him look kind of skinny, though, and the poor monkey looks like he needs all the fluffiness he can get.

I played with the sky picture for awhile and actually got it to look not too bad. The more I played with the texture the worse it got.
Hair is hard, especially if you are trying to change the color of a background. He does look a bit on the emaciated side.

:P I shouldn't laugh at the monkey's expense. I have enormous trouble with white skies with trees against them. My usual solution is to crop out the sky or move on to the next photo. :-P

I relly like the Monkey. Looks a little like me.
I did download it. Sorry hope you don't mind a comment. The Fur and the Eyes have a slight movement (double image). It does detract from your image.
Keep posting. Regards: Donald
