I appreciate that pelicans in flight are an extremely popular photographic subject, however their grace and beauty in flight never ceases to amaze me. I couldn't resist this as I saw it approach.

Warren, this pelican in download is a stunner. The detail and clarity you captured is simply amazing

Thanks for the good words, While I took the picture, I was not flying it. Never had the pleasure of flying a bi-wing, nice thought :D

I flew one once, for just a couple of minutes... I was on one of these 'event days', because our company had done well, or something, and it was my turn. We did archery, go-carts, clay pigeon shooting, etc. One of the activities was a ride in a tiger moth. At the time, I was learning to fly a cessna 150, and I told the pilot about it. Turned out he was also a qualified instructor, and he let me take it for a few minutes, and log it as a lesson! Handles a bit different from the cessna! Great fun, though.

Thank you lensbaby. I have my wife to thank for holding me upright as I swung my lens at it and hoped for the best. It just happened to be gliding over a white sand beach with reflected light which illuminated and brought out the underside detail. All just good luck really.... I'm sure a more competent photographer would have a better story to tell!! Again thanks.
