I am traveling to Italy next summer and I want to lighten up my load so I don't want to take a lap top. Can someone please give me some ideas on how to move my pictures from my PS camera to a tablet? Also which tablet to use. I might as well get one on sale this holiday.
As always thanks for your help.
Transferring to a tablet is not easy and most tablets do not have that much memory anyway. At the price of SD cards these days I would suggest just getting a couple extra cards and keeping any full ones safe until you get home. Cheap, safe, and no chance of losing data during a transfer.

I would agree with Shooter. I know nothing about tablets because I don't and wouldn't use one. A lap top would be a safe place for storage and that's what I'm planning on my next trip. But I will also keep the cards in tact and safe so I'll have a back up on the lap top. I'm one of these close to the trunk kind of guys... why take risks if you don't have too.
However it's always advisable to take extra cards as well.
In the old days we always carried extra film rolls use them or not... same thing here.
Have fun, good luck
Thanks for all the info. Extra SD cards might be the answer.
Thanks
Hi Esther. Can you elaborate a little bit more lol.

There are backup drives for just this purpose out there, if you are concerned about something happening to your cards during the trip. You just stick the card in the drive and back it up. You can then save the card so you have the files in two places. HOWEVER, they run around $500.00 and are mostly hard drives instead of solid state drives, so are more subject to problems from rough teratment.

Yea, it's rebellion! I want a delete button on the Hog and I want it now....!!
All kidding aside, I was actually typing a message in this thread, when I realized it was doubling up. At that point the phone, sitting right beside me and quite loud (husband doesn't hear so well), and I jumped and must have hit the "send" button.
It is impossible to delete a message from the Hog, you can only edit and reduce it to a dot.
I should of course have put in a word or two, if only something like "edited" or "sorry"
So hereby: Sorry!
Esther

Easy as pie to download images to the iPad, edit, and then upload the keepers to "Dropbox" , whence you can download to your PC upon return home.

More info please. That's exactly what I want to do. I don't think I will purchase an iPad but the process should be the same with any other. But what is it?

Sorry I can't talk about any other tablet, but for Ipad you spend $20.00 for the adapter, you can go directly from camera or from card. Could not be easier. I have about 1000 shots on my Ipad from a trip to Jamacia. Great way to review pic each day when away from home.
Transfered from camera to Ipad to you.
