Bushido, please go read the rules. The OP must state that he/she wants to be asked for permission. Lighthouse did not break the rules.

I will reread the rules thank you Nightski.

My apologies to Lighthouse for not understanding the rule and in the future I will follow them as instructed.

If it's any consolation Bushido, I too thought that if (1) the OP did NOT include a Download File, nor (2) specifically give permission for others to edit a file, then no one was supposed to modify your work. I had to re-read the rules myself. I find the way it's worded to be somewhat backward - that you have to put in writing if you want others to keep their paws off. The default SHOULD be: no permission, no touchie. Even as they're written now, it would have been good form for the person to ask.

Bob, It is my feeling that all images are subject to interpretation from the viewer however it is the creators interpretation that the image portrays because he or she is the one that created it. Just because a person does not agree with does not make his or her thoughts better to the originator. Thanks for letting me know you had the same trouble. I don't feel as foolish.

Seems a funny thing to say on a forum where you post your photos for critique.

Lighthouse, critiquing was not the issue. Everyone who posts to this section is asking for others opinions of their work. On the other hand, not all of them are asking that their photographs be retouched by someone else's hand.

After this crop I like it a lot.
The foreground is now stronger and the OOF bush on the left front is gone.

That's not the way I read that post that I answered at all.
That is not what he says at all in that one.

I like it. It seems very atmospheric, and the ducks add a sense of 'peace' to it

I am not as technical as some folks, but I do know what I like...

Bob and Bushido, So Sorry. My mistake! I didn't notice that Bushido did not check the "store original" box. It is true that the OP must be asked if the box has not been checked and there is not a downloadable version. You are correct, Bob. I apologize again, and I will pm Lighthouse and clear this up with him too. I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

Thank you Nightski. It's good to have a level-headed referee supervise us guys when we get rowdy. Still, with all the back-and-forth on this, it seemed fairly civilized.

Unfortunately Bushido, the onus is now on the photographer in this section to state if he/she does not want to have their image edited, unlike the forum rule for the rest of the sections where permission must be asked of the photographer. So if you do not remember to deny permission in advance, it's open season on your picture. 8-)

It is not true that it is open season on the OP's photo. The offending edit has been deleted, and all parties involved have been contacted via PM. Everyone is satisfied with the outcome. I will do this for anyone who feels they have been violated. It was simply a misunderstanding.
