I know, I put that tree there at the request of the bride. But them the is a big story behind that shot and the parents did not notice the tree, only the look on her face and what was happening. So for me, that was a success. And that shot ended up in the album. If you look for it everything has flaws, even God, He create us.

As for advice, take the shot like the one pictured, they will look at it and decide it does not go in the wedding album. Then get more creative and then in Bridge, use the adjustment brush and bring out the detail on the dress alone. Because it you touch the whole picture you will make everything look as bad as that shot.

Very easy, GrandPa, I just did a Formal Rehearsal for Hello Dolly and had to do the same. Works well, if you know how.

Do you have the lead part in 'Hello Dolly'?

As you say you take out the bad ones and leave in the good ones, funnily enough that's what I do, that was a bad one.

As for the good ones (oops did I say something wrong there) it ended up in a brochure for Liverpool Football Club, UK, as their official images, http://www.liverpoolfc.com/corporate/conferences-events/weddings

Next time engage the brain before you post.

Have a good day.

PS your website is like you when you try and get on it 'ERROR'

I missed the part, I was tooo Fem for them. As for posting. I am on alot of technical site (non photographic oriented) and i see the same thing. People comment there, ask questions, look for advice and are 'searching'. What they get is arrogance, indifference and abuse. I just gave it back. Funny how people react what they get some of the cough medicine they shove down someone else's throat. I am 99% helpful all the time, even on the other sites where I make 110% of my income or I joke (maybe that is the 99%) but tend to stay away from the 'get lost' comments. So, back to what I normally do. Excuse me for the commercial interruption, But for the rest of you, think about how you feel right now towards me, I bet there are alot of people out there who read YOUR comments and feel the same way.

PS, I still like the tree growing out of her head (although I did remove it and have it in my portfolio, I still like that one!!) that was a completely journalistic shot, no set up. I caught her face and drew up my camera as quick as I could before loosing the moment. We found out later, cause she recalled the moment, there was a HUGE bug on her behind trying to make it's way to a late Saturday night bite. Being a very sweet lady she was trying not to make a scene. But was frantic on how to get ride of the but and not get stung. see, she has allergies and that would have sent her to the hospital.

Told you there was a story behind it. She said she was terrified inside and wanted that picture as a remembrance to the 'little things' that can ruin weddings. You cannot make these things up.

sorry for the bad comment on the dress, normally when i don't like something i just shut up. I am not changing my outlook on it, but should have not commented.

Adios my friends................and stalkers.

Look at all my post on this forum and I have never been arrogant, indifferent or have give abuse to anyone. I give my post with fairness involved and try and help whoever I can.

And where in my posts did you get singled out and mentioned by name.

Oh, England, now I understand.

And to keep with the rules.

Side soft lighting works great. Also filters, depending on your shooting environment.

I like it - - some may take issue with the white on white motif, but I think it works in your photo - - also like the contrast of the red draperies.

Those white dresses CAN be tricky to capture !
I took one of the dress below at the wedding venu - - but it was hanging on a white door - - and I didn't like the result (so have hidden it). I DO have a BUNCH of photos I took a few weeks before the wedding with the Bride IN the dress - - I like those MUCH better :-)

I see a slight overall red cast ...., could be the carpet and drapes reflecting light onto the dress.

Really? I don't see it. But if there is perhaps some white balance tweaking can fix it.

I wouldn't have thought of putting the dress on a white background but it really works. Quite lovely.

After looking closely at an enlarged portion of the dress I took out both red and yellow (-40 each in PS). This gives me almost a pure white ....., on my monitor.
