I for one, welcome a return to the classic camera shape. I haven't been all that comfortable with the round shape of most DSLRs of today. To me, they feel like I'm holding a cumbersome volleyball up to my face, and they seem to lack the hand flexibility of the traditional boxy camera shape. In most situations I do prefer mechanical dials over push buttons.

What I find intriguing is the D4 sensor in a retro body that accepts ALL legacy Nikkor (Nikon) glass, even non-AI lenses!
Those old non-AI lenses that have been selling cheap will now see some big price increases I am betting.

That's definitely a big plus. I often use non-AI lenses on my Nikon D40, but without metering or auto focusing capabilities unfortunately. I'm sure most of the (F-mount) non-legacy lenses will fit on this new camera as well. I can't imagine why they shouldn't - the rear of the lenses are identical to those of the Nikkor lenses.

$2,746.96 in the US for the body (not cheap). There are already criticisms on where they placed the EV dial.

Google is our friend. When I saw the introduction for this model, I wondered how the price compared with my original "F", in today's dollars. Unless I misread something, this model is at the very same price point as the "F" was in 1964. Of course, I bought mine used, but the $200.00 I paid was like two months pay.

I bought my original F Photomic FTn Apollo version new, god I miss it

I still have my F, my Ftn was stolen, along with my 85mm f1.8 lens. I hope we aren't hijacking the thread.

Does this means it has a focus motor in camera? I still have every lens I bough from 1965 and every body except for the F6. I still use all of my old lenses on the D300s. Thanks to MT.:):)

Thanks JR! But I think I will wait on this one. To pricey for what you get. Might wait and look at all the used ones that go up for sell. :)
