Hello,

I am new to this hobby and am curious about online photo applications to help create or enhance my pictures. I tried GIMP, had a bad experience with all the junk and ad-ons that came with it. It created a problem for my laptop. Any advice will greatly be appreciated. Thank you

The simplest one is Picasa, but it will only make locale adjustments, I.E. color, brighter, darker, contrast. It is also a great way to catalog you photos. I only use Gimp to make changes in a photo. Like removing unwanted objects. More in line with Photo Shop edits.

Welcome to UHH

GIMP does not come with Ads or Add-ons unless you download it from a mirror site. Try http://www.gimp.org

You may want to check out Picmonkey. It is very easy to use, has different things to experiment with and if you like it, you can upgrade for $4.99 a month. I use it quite a bit because it is easy (for those of us who are editing program challenged) :)

As I have said on UHH several times - unless you are a graphic designer or a "pro", Picasa does everything you need. I have used it for years with great success. The important thing is to READ the instruction when you down load it from Google. It is free and non-destructive.
