Elements11..how to combine 3 sunsets into one

I have taken three different shots of a sunset as the sun is going down and was wondering the best way to combine the three suns into one photo.
Could someone take me through the editing steps in how to do this.
The photo was taken over the sea so I want to keep one base photo and add the two other suns into it..I hope this makes sense.
Thank you

Why not post the pictures so people know what you want.?

Very simplified, but:
Open a new document, then place each of the three photos on its own layer into that document.
Erase from the two top layers what you don't want to keep so that the bottom layer becomes visible there.
While you're working on one layer, click on the "eyes" beside the other two, so you can really see what happens to layer you're on.

I believe Elements 11 has mask capabilities. Which allows undestructive editing on the layers. Painting on the white mask with black reveals what's beneath. Make a mistake, paint with white to undo.

I would say EsterP is really a 28 year old computer genius, but her explanations are always clear.

The goal in editing one's images and combining multiple layers,(images) together is learning how to do your edits non-destructively. Meaning while making the edits you aren't destroying pixels. I think Ester would agree with me that using the eraser tool is a destructive edit.

I absolutely agree!
Although I must confess that I often use destructive methods on my photos - knowing that the "out-of-camera" images are safely stored on two separate external hard drives.

Don't I wish!
I also wish you wouldn't give me so much credit!
All of this goes back to what my Dad once told me, when I was trying to memorize some formula for my homework in my last year of high school: Only memorize it well enough to be able to use it in your final exam. After that you only need to know how and where to find the information you need.
That, and some 25 years of genealogical research have helped me to find things. So, credit my Dad! (He's also the one who taught me the basics of photography).

Try using 3 layers as Esther suggested, but instead of erasing what you don't want, setting the blending modes of the top 2 to lighten.
