Hi all,
I'll be in Columbus Ohio next Saturday and will have the day open for shooting. I like to shoot Landscapes, Wildlife and Macros.
How is the fall color in the area now? In Northeast Ohio, there are still a lot of trees with their leaves and the area is quite pretty, but, from past experience, Central Ohio often doesn't follow the pattern of Northern Ohio.
Any areas that have any wildlife activity? Walden Wildlife Preserve can usually be counted on for some of that.
Any suggestions for locales will be appreciated.

Maybe try the Columbus Zoo....or a short drive out to Hocking Hills.
Can't go wrong with the Hocking Hills and the caves. Leaves haven't really turned yet, but this cold snap might bring it on. (Shameless plug for Old Man's Cave)...find out who the old man hermit was and I'll tell you a story.

Thanks. I'm hoping to stay closer to Columbus, though. Have to be in downtown Columbus at 4:00.

Zoo sounds interesting. Don't think I have the time for Hocking Hills, though.
You might think about either the Chadwick Arboretum, or Columbus Conservatory.

That's a shame. I am formerly from Cincinnati, and camped there when we were younger. We returned last year about this time and was amazed. A beautiful place to shoot and hike. If you can rethink your decision. Gary

A member here, Carlysue, is from Columbus. You might shoot her a PM and ask for suggestions.
But if it's wildlife you're after, go to Ohio State. Only a few minutes from downtown.

There is a replica of the Mayflower anchored in downtown Columbus. It is worth seeing. It is hard to immagine that boat going across the ocean

It is a beautiful place to shoot. Spent time there when my daughter was a student at OU. Dropping my wife off at a conference downtown in the AM and have to pick her up by 4. Then off to DC for a conference I'm attending. Just don't think I can make the time work.

Not familiar with either. What is there?

Primarily close-up shots? Flowers still in bloom?
