The Battle of the Hook Reenactment in 2013 was a reprise of an event that debuted there in 2008. Because of that, this reenactment was nicknamed "Return to the Hook". With 1400 reenactors, it was probably one of the largest, if not THE largest, event of its kind. I had anticipated attending this event for more than a year, and it almost got rained out. Still, I made the trip to Gloucester VA on October 19th, 2013 to photograph this spectacle. I used 4 different cameras and took a total of 812 shots; these are the best of the lot.

Great series. Would love to see one of these in person.
These are some of the best reenactment photos I've ever seen especially the first one. Well done.

Dixiegirl, This is the only photo captured with my Canon G15. I needed a wide-angle lens to capture the broad array of reenactors assembled for the Dress Review and the 28mm end of this P&S lens did quite nicely. Although it did a credible job of capturing the people, it was the sky that set this photo apart.
These are excellent pictures, Bob! Well done!
