Come on now, I dunno, that's a pretty bold statement. Given the body of work that this forum represents; that might not even be the dumbest comment Today, much less Ever.

I believe it means don't confront and accuse, all superior like, as too many policemen do these days. In addition to shooting your dog if it barks at them. jmo I'm also not saying that ALL police do that. But if any do it, then it's too many.

Are you positive she copied it? Maybe, if she is blonde, she got the date wrong. But I would ask her a gentle question about the different phases and see what happens. Don't pay too much attention to what she is says rather watch her body language. If she fidgets, even slightly, she knows she's been caught. But be very gentle. I wouldn't let her get away with it.

Have her look you square in the eye.

Hi everyone. First of all, I’d like to thank everyone that responded to my question and would like to explain why it bothered me so bad in the first place. Three years ago I had a picture of a double rainbow stolen by a friend (?). The story of how it ended up was interesting and I thought I would share it with you all. Sue stole my picture and passed it off as her own to her minister, who, in turn, posted it on his website as his own. When I saw it, I confronted him and his explanation was unbelievable. The camera I was using then had a speck of dust in the upper right corner which made the pictures undeniably mine-easily removed- but as unique as a fingerprint. When I showed him other pictures with the same mark, his face went ashen. When he began speaking and I saw why he had such a large congregation. He can twist any argument to his favor and convince most people of anything. He said even though he hadn't physically pushed the button, the camera was only in my hands by the “glory of God” and the rainbow also belonged to God, and since we were all children of God it was the same as him taking the photo, so he had every right to claim it as his own. I’ll never forget the smug self-satisfied look on his face. Or the look that quickly followed when I told him I was an atheist and if he didn't remove the photo immediately I would make sure his congregation knew that the photo was mine. He removed the photo.

I like this forum because of the open line of communication between the members. For the most part, it seems people are able to express themselves without fear of retribution. What a refreshing change from most forums!

I'm more concerned that you think that photographers 'shoot' things. Placing or pointing a camera at something is not shooting it. It is in preparation for gathering some light from that direction.

Hi everyone. First of all, I’d like to thank every... (show quote)
That's some of those born-again Christians for ya. See, you are an atheist and obviously a good person that is only searching for truth and justice whereas the Christian minister was being a hypocrite. Truth, justice and theivery were not important to him, only power and self-glorification. An example of the misconception that Christianity represents good and atheism represents evil.

Each to their own, I suppose. My photography professor taught me to say "shoot" so I will always think the term is correct, but thanks for giving me your opinion.

If your photography professor wants you to refer to him as JR, I would switch schools. But before you leave take Wabbit with you to class and say "shoot"!

8-)

I too have had images stolen so I know the sting all to well.

Is this friend selling copies of the photo?
Is she using it to market her skill as a photographer so people will hire her?

if she is simply just someone trying to get her friends to sing her praises for no other reason than to feel the love, I would be inclinded to let this slide, especially if this is the first time she has "borrowed" an image and tried to pass it off as her own.

if she has done this before or is professional or aspiring professional I would call her out on it in a heart beat.
