Humbling.

Sad that your 'officals', just like ours, seem to find it all too easy to justify cuts to the deserving, whilst letting the freeloaders pocket handfuls of cash.

I would like to watch the video, but find the vastly over-used zooming and panning to be too annoying.

This is the most extraordinary story of heroism that I have come across. The sheer courage of Roy is without doubt amazing. That he should have to wait all that time for recognition is alpalling. As a Brit may I pay respect to all the veterans who served in that cruel conflict.

Yes. Pissed me off that it took so long for him to get the medal.

You are old enough to remember how it was for returning veterans in those days. I am surprised he ever got the medal. Never forget.

Absolutely unbelievable... The Nam photos are amazing with the text.

That is truly a great story of a great unselfish man. Luckily he did not understand the words "give up". God bless this man and may he rest in peace. Thanks bcheary for sharing. We need more courageous people in the world like Roy.

Incredible man, incredible bravery. And the desk bound bast**ds tried to stop his financial support after he gave so much.

It just makes me sick.

RIP Mike.
