No question about it...a very nice shot. I've got to ask though, was there any post processing done or is what I see what you saw when you pressed the shutter button?

Welcome to the forum, Pilot! As you're new here, perhaps it's not obvious to you, but yes, this was processed, as I said in the title. The shot was painted with Topaz Simplify.

If you enlarge the shot (click on the download), you'll notice the plants don't look real anymore. Painting brightens and smooths the photos, and depending on the shot, I'll vary the opacity of the effect, but I use it on nearly all my work, including the cats.

A simple composition. Sometimes it's worth looking east at sunset.

I'm sure there is an official name for that, I just call them reverse sunsets. This one is spectacular and well captured.
Painting with a camera? Thanks for showing.

You're welcome! If you're a kitty person, I've posted quite a number of cats here, should you wish to see what the painting does with them, as you might want to give it a try. Mostly I keep the painting very subtle, but I do use it on nearly all of them, except for their eyes.

I think the last two posted were 'Goosed' and 'Portrait of a Puss.' To find them, click on my avatar name, then, under 'number of topics created,' click on 'list,' and they should appear.

Thanks very much, Phil. Appreciate the kind comment. The weather forecasters locally always say the sun will set in the west. SInce they're invariably wrong about every other aspect of the weather, I usually check out the east, fully expecting to see the sun set there. Sometimes I get lucky, even if the sun doesn't show up. ; )

Thanks for looking!

Thank you, Sue. A little luck with these things never hurts, but a good rule to not narrow your focus to what's right in front of you. Besides, you never know who or what might be sneaking up on you!!!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! Glad you liked them. Both were painted, but with lower opacity than the sunset shot.
