Tokina 100mm macro lens. I've posted around a thousand photos with this lens in the past year, just check out my back post. Cost new $500 and I also use the D7000

I have a Nikon D7000 and I want a good macro lens and don't want to pay arm and a leg for it if there's one out there. Come on ladies and gentlemen.
Hi nederob1,
bertnie here...I have a D700 and shot with a Tokina 100mm
macro for a short while...until I bought the Nikon 105mm
macro...that has vr and I use it a lot for portraits of the grands...The Tokina is a great lens...see Ken Rockwell's
testing on it, along with his opinion. The Tokina is virtually new, with only about less than 300 snaps on it.Will sell the lens for $395...
Thanks,
Bert

Have you considered Extension Tubes?
No thanks Bert but thanks for the offer. I have a friend that's going to let me borrow his tamron 90 mm f2.5 do u think an extension tube would work ok on?
extension tubes come later after you learn how to use the macro lens at 1:1 magnification which is about 7 inches from subject.

Hi nedrob1,
Bertnie back again...
you mentioned using extension tubes on the 9omm tamron...
I have not done that...my friend shoots a lot of macro using the 200mm Nikon...and sometimes with the extubes...
he produces some awesome images with them...
Best of luck.
Bert
Ok. I took the lens out today and tried it i didnt like the color of the pics
Hey Nederob1,
That doesn't sound like a lens problem...you might need to play with some of your camera exposure settings...etc?
I'm not an expert...would check with some experts at Nikon...that Tamron 90 is a legendary lens.
Let me hear..?
Bert
Thanks Bert. I'll try to put something on the forum for you and everyone to look at. DeWayne
