Hi i have just bought a canon 5D mkiii and i am looking at cards the 5d has both sdhc and cf slots can some one please advise on witch one is better i currently use a sdhc sandisc extreme pro 16gb

CF cards are much more robust than a SD card....... I believe most higher end - so called "ProCameras" use CF cards - that should tell you something . I use CF as my primary , SD as back up in my D800e. feel the difference !!!

CF Card ONLY.
CF card slot has a much higher possible transfer speed than the SD slot.
And, IF you use an SD card (any card speed) in the SD slot, the CF card slot will be speed limited to the same crappy speed as the SD. Terrible choice by Canon.

Definitely cf as sd can't read udma so fast sd cards are waste of money in mk III
