Ray, this was pretty funny till you ruined it with "The palestinians get their country back". There is no such country as "Palestine" there never was. Here's a little history...

Ya. I knew I'd hear about that. What I was implying was that the Palestinians could extend their territories into what is now Israel after the Israelis occupied Mexico. Very similar climate by the way and all that oil.

Rocket Science Anyone?

The United States ranks 3rd in murders throughout the World. But, if you take out Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C. and New Orleans, the United States is 4th from the bottom (in the world) for murders. These 4 cities also have the toughest gun control laws in the United States, and are all controlled by Democrats.

Finally, somebody with common sense...

Mike... You must be the only decent person left in your town. Does everybody else in Chicago know you are still there? LOL :-D

Keep that gun well oiled. It will slide easier coming out of the holster easier. Keep your mags full. Here in Ct., the governor passed a law after Newtown that we could keep our high capacity but only load them with ten rounds. like a common criminal is going to obey that law? More feel good legislation.

One other thing Mike, Isn't Chicago a gun free zone? Just wondering. :?:
Mike... You must be the only decent person left in... (show quote)

Yes it is gun free ( for now ) I'm actually 2 city blocks out of city limits so I can have my python. And in January I get to keep it with me when needed.

Shhhh.

Mike... New Haven Ct. came in @#8 in the U.S. most dangerous city. Chicago didn't even make the list? I've been to New Haven in the daytime and did not find it all that bad? Of course I would not want to be there when the sun goes down and the nightcrawlers come out...

As in any big city, this gun fighting is mostly, mostly, limited to the blighted neighborhoods. The people who need their guns the most, unfortunately have a moron as a mayor. So they take their life in their own hands by simply going to the neighborhood grocery store.

The USA does not have the third highest murder rate in the world. Our current rate is 5.2/100,000 and there are many countries that are much higher. Look here:

Chicago is not even in the top ten for homicides. It is just taking its turn for the brunt of media hype, especilaly the Chicago Tribune, which has a headline every Monday about shootings. The other lazy idiots pick up the headline.

Take Chicago and Detroit and give them to Canada. Dig a canal around D.C. and set it adrift and push it back to England. As for New Orleans, the Gulf hurricaines have and will take care of them if Global Warming (if there is such a thing) doesn't.

You forgot about L.A.??

Sorry but we're not stupid enough to take those cesspools!!!! LOL

Sorry, Amy, but poverty does not cause violent crime. I say this from have grown up in worse poverty than most of these people have ever imagined. We had no EBT, welfare, wic, section 8 housing, NOTHING. At times I actually feared starvation, but we didn't resort to crime. Even if these people feel they have no option but to steal to survive, that is no excuse for rape, mayhem and murder. These things are caused by bad parenting and a violent sub-culture, not lack of money. Most of these people don't know real poverty. It's an excuse for bad behavior and a political ploy. What problems would you address, and how?

Come here, I'll show you what real poverty looks like.

95% of Americans have no clue what so ever what poverty looks like.

"Poor" Americans have 3 hots and a cot, cable, cell phones.
Disability checks, EBT Debit cards for food, free health care.

I met a lovely older lady, a dear heart of a woman on a business trip. My partner and I were walking through a market in a small Korean town. From a distance we saw a cart move and stop, move and stop. With nothing obvious moving it. As we made our way through the market we saw that the cart was being moved buy an older lady with no legs below the knee. What remained of her legs were wrapped in what I suppose were truck inner tubes. She would push the cart, set the brake and haul herself up to the cart.
She greeted us like long lost sons when we walked up to her. She had Korean handicrafts and trinkets for sale.
She had such a spirit, such a love for people I was more than a little surprised considering her circumstances. The difficulty she faced in simply moving a few feet at a time.
My partner and I bought what must have been a couple hundred US dollars worth of this and that. We also spread the word that anyone going to Chongu, should visit the market and pick up a trinket or two. ( when on the road we picked up a little something for the travel coordinator who had a nightmare of a job keeping our herd of engineers going to the right place at the right time).

With the "safety net" we have in America such a life is not necessary, we spend a BILLION dollars a day for those that are infirmed, folks that have the capability to work, but lack the desire.

Seems to me America was a tougher , more self reliant, robust nation in times gone by.
