A little earlier today I was reading an article on the Pope which for some unfathomable reason had a sentence beginning....

Rush Limbaugh, Leader of the Conservatives...............

So I began to think about that and My question is........

Before the question, no reason to bash or slime Mr. Limbaugh, we know who you are and what you think about him..... LOL

Do you believe that Mr. Limbaugh is the LEADER OF THE CONSERVATIVES.......... WHY or WHY NOT...

thanks... Mike

and all the time I was thinking that I was the leader of the conservatives. I guess you can call yourself anything that you want, if you think that it will draw attention to yourself

I remember Limbaugh when he first came on Radio (after he gave up being a DJ)....was more fun .... asking women to send him their panties.....would have loved to paw Katie Couric and Nancy Pelosi's big ones .....had never voted once in his life .....didn't have a clue .....somewhat the same as today ! lol

No, he is not the leader of the conservatives. He is a well-read, and well-spoken person who is an expert at talking about American politics ... what's right and what's wrong. And a lot of his opinions are shared by many Americans.

I listen to him regularly, and have ever since he started on national radio. He's not always right, but at least he gets people to think ... hopefully to decide for themselves, but at least be more educated on a lot of issues.

I don't think he's always right. Sometimes I even get tired of listening to him. At those times there are many other talk show hosts to listen to, many of which are also interesting in their own way.

He is an entertainer,a radio personality. He does not represent anyone but himself.

I do think that he is a Representative of his faithful listeners. I do respect his opinion and I listen to him (and others) while I drive. However, as a Republican and a Conservative, I think for myself. I decides what is right and wrong with my party and my nation. I will listen and I will respect your opinion but if I disagree with you, I will. Rush is who he is - so am I.

well, that's kind of a given no? I guess I was trying to imply that since the Conservatives which encompasses, tea party, most Republicans and some independents may not all agree with Rush's assessments. Furthermore each of these organizations have their own official representatives. We may find his broadcasts interesting, noteworthy and eyeopening, however his fiduciary responsibility is to his employer and sponsors.

We agree... this was not directed at you per sa. I was speaking in general, however, Rush dose have a faithful following, even among the Liberal Democrats who loves to hate him. I do not seek him out on the radio to listen to him, my radio is set to the station that I enjoy (talk radio). My radio has six set buttons and a CD player if I am bored with Rush.

The meaning of "conservative" has changed and has no clear meaning any longer. I don't think I have heard Rush for over a dozen years or so but he may very well be the icon of conservatism, whatever that means, which is of very little importance, in my opinion.

To me conservatism means if you have kids, support them and be a Dad like my Dad was.Kinda simplified but it works for me.Also if you are able to work, try it for a change.
