I am in the market for epson claria hd ink cartridges for my epson stylus r260 color printer. (tO78 series) Should i stick to original epson inks(cartridges) which are expensive or should i try remanufactured ink cartriges for this printer. If someone has used remanufactured ink cartrides what co have they purchased them from and is the print quality the same as with the original epson ones.

I have the workhorse 500,and my ink cost is about $70 for a round of 4 cartridges, so I know your pain. I have tried the remanufactured inks 3 different times, alwAys with the same dissasterous results. Either the printer didn't recognize the cartridge,or ink was disbursed everywhere except on the paper. I will forever more stay with EPson inks.

Check this out. This is where I buy my Epson inks from. It is a cool website and it explains a whole lot of things about ink that I bet you did not know. It surprised me! Very reasonable cost and the results are excellent. No problems whatsoever.

If you deviate from Epson Ink and Epson papers, you are likely to run into problems. If you have the equipment to produce ink/paper specific profiles you should be Ok. If the ink or paper manufacturer provides profiles for the ink/paper combination, you should be Ok.

Other than that, take the pain!

I've personally had disastrous results from aftermarket ink in 3 previous Epson printers. Shortly after using cheap ink the printer head clogged up or some similar malfunction. Plus the ink faded.
I WILL NOT use anything but original Epson. My CX9400 is 6 years old and is used constantly. It is still printing great on Epson ink like it is new. My new R3000 photo printer will only use Epson(9 cartridges times $31. ea.)

Don't risk it. Occasionally you can find deals on Epson ink and paper on Ebay.

There are many inkjet printer ink suppliers to choose from. However, some are better than others. I prefer the known good type of refill inks. I have several types printers. I have tried many types of inks, suppliers, head cleaners and supply systems. At present, I have the outside tanks on my Artisan 1430, refillable type in my XP-600, replaceable tanks in my NX230. And others also. Each one is available at instant use. I use nothing but ink supplied from IZZY, at CCSDIGITAL.COM. I recommend his services very high. For several years, I have used his type of inks and replacement units with excellent results. Since I changed to his service, I have had very little problems compared to others I was using.
This in not a commercial for his services but just a recommendation for my good service in the past few years.
