I hope I'm doing this right. I just joined up yesterday. You image my strongly seen and beautifully executed. Ya really did good! The only thing I can find wrong with your photo is the fact that I DIDN'T TAKE IT! Beautiful work!

Brings back memories. . .. 1955 I sailed on one for 2 months before joining the Navy - Nov. 1955. Coal-Steam power
Started as "deck hand" . . . "James E. Ferris" 2 weeks later advanced to "deck watch." Fours on, four off rotation. During the day watch I repainted, by hand, all signs. Night watch . . . checked "balast" tanks hourly for depth. Recorded levels on wheelhouse chalk board. Sure would like a copy on computer start screen.

Such a pretty shot. It made me lonesome for the lake. We lived on Lake Superior for 10 years, and saw the same from our front room. I only regret that I couldn't do my photography fun at that time. Just could not afford to pursue it then. We may spend next summer ther, and the camera will be on me 24-7 .

I love taking photos in Duluth. You captured it perfectly. I wish we could get a weather report every day that included mist and fog! This is a great shot. Well done.

Thanks so much, lorim! I wish I lived closer, so when the weather was perfect, I could buzz over there. Its a 4 hour drive for me. I think you have less distance, but with the traffic you have to deal with coming out of the Cities, it's probably just as long for you. I notice it when I hit the Brainerd area. Bumper to bumper on those highways on Thursday and especially Friday afternoons.

Wow! Really nicely composed and interpreted. Can you tell us your settings? Did you use ND filters to extend the time? Thanks for posting, Julie

What a fine image, I like it so well in monochrome.
There are some wonderful photo ops. around Duluth. My son and his wife live up there, I would sure like to go do some photography there, but my wife's health issues pretty much keep me at home.

Oh, that is a shame. I hope that you get some assistance. Caregivers need some time for themselves too. Or, hopefully she will recover.
Kind Regards, Sandra
