I split the Pictures section into two sections: Photo Gallery and Photo Analysis.
Photo Gallery is the old Pictures section. Everything stays the same.
The Photo Analysis section is described here:

so in photo analysis does the photo lie down on a couch and start talking about its childhood for $150.00 an hour?

the rate, the joke or both? (couldn't resist)
I believe it's confusing to have critique in both sections.I suppose if you just want to share something without some people critiqueing it to death you'll have to state that very clearly to start with.Sometimes the best solution is the simplest one.JMHO

I agree with you. Seems a bit silly to me, all those rules to post on the photo analysis thread. Already read one where a general, not specific question was asked, which should be in the photo gallery. But I really do not care, it's a fun forum. :)

The Photo Analysis section is described here:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-19061-1.htmlSince the Photo Gallery will not be a place for comments, could you remove the Comment/Reply features?
These would simply be photos on display for us to admire, without having to make an instructional comment.

"Well it all started when I was just a bunch of photons flying through the air..."
PLEASE!!! Leave as is...........I like to look and read the comments/advice and drink my coffee in peace without having to search for anything. Thank you.

The new section is for those that want to learn something, either those reading it or the poster.

Well Admin did say the Photo Gallery section would stay the same. "All other picture posts, such as asking for general critique of some photo..." I suppose if your asking for a colonel critique your rank is still to low for the general section. :)
But seriously, by the title alone it would seem to make sense to me for the gallery to be a place to post pictures just for looking at and the analysis section would be asking for critique. But its not my forum so the Admin gets to make the rules.
Sounds like Admin wanted a more technical section for the photographers who want more specific teaching and learning. But thats just my guess based on what the rules are, one would have to ask Admin why he did it. All in all I certainly dont think its a bad idea, so thanks Admin. ;)
I have a feeling your new section is going to turn into a small clique that only those professionals will be able to use, which is good. It will be like eavesdropping on the teachers when they're planning your next pop quiz. I'll still be able to read it, even if I don't post, right? Some of that technical stuff is still Greek to me. Guess I gotta learn a new language just to use my camera, and I thought it was just a matter of pushing a button!!!
May I ask if this is for professional photographers or also for novices or beginners who photos are most likely less than adequate?
